Automate Item Dropping with Copper Hoppers
Set Up Automatic Item Ejection
Copper Hoppers automatically drop any items placed inside them, making them useful for sorting systems, item disposal, or creating item fountains for decoration.
Basic Setup
1. Craft a Copper Hopper using the mod's recipe
2. Place it in your desired location
3. Insert items into the hopper—they will automatically drop out the bottom
4. Items fall as entities that can be collected by players or other hoppers below
Practical Applications
- Item Sorting: Position Copper Hoppers above different collection areas to separate and organize materials
- Disposal Systems: Use them to automatically discard unwanted items from farms or mining operations
- Decorative Displays: Create item fountains or cascading effects for visual appeal in your base
- Redstone Contraptions: Combine with redstone components like the Weather Detector to create conditional item systems
Tips
- Place a hopper or chest below the Copper Hopper to catch dropped items if needed
- Test your setup with a small quantity of items first to ensure items drop where you expect
- Copper Hoppers work with all item types, including enchanted tools and rare materials
