How to Craft and Use the Haunted Bell

Getting the Materials

The Haunted Bell is a shaped crafting recipe. Gather the components first, then arrange them at a crafting table. Because the recipe is shaped, the exact layout of the ingredients in the grid matters — mirroring or rotating the pattern will not produce the item.

Using the Bell

Once crafted, the Haunted Bell is your tool for interacting with the mod's head blocks. The Bellringer's Head, Dame Fortuna's Head, Rosalyne's Head, Rosalyne's Cracked Head, and Swampjaw's Downscaled Skull are all placeable blocks. Place a head block down, then use the Haunted Bell on it to trigger its effect.

If a head block does not respond, check that you are close enough and aiming directly at the block face. Some head blocks are tied to specific progression — for example, Rosalyne's Cracked Head and Rosalyne's Head are separate blocks, so make sure you have placed the correct one for the encounter you want.

Related Recipes

Several items in the mod feed into the Bell's progression chain. The Dusk Key and Passage's Toll are both craftable and are worth making alongside the Bell if you are working through the mod's content in order. Keep a crafting table and a furnace nearby — one recipe in the mod uses smelting and one uses blasting, so a blast furnace speeds up that step.
