Growing Aloe, Cotton, and Other Medicinal Plants

Every medicine in the mod starts on a farm. The seeds you need are Aloe Seeds, Cotton Seeds, Chamomile Seeds, Sweet Clover Seeds, Vinca Seeds, Opium Seeds, and Belladonna Seeds.

Planting and Harvesting

Plant each seed on farmland like a normal crop and let it mature. Harvest Aloe to get Aloe Extract and Aloe Juice, which feed directly into Aloe Dressing and Aloe Soaked Fabric. Cotton yields Cotton String and Cotton Fabric — the backbone of nearly every bandage recipe. Chamomile, Sweet Clover, and Vinca each produce plant material used in their respective fabrics and dressings. Opium Seeds and Belladonna Seeds are the dangerous crops: Belladonna yields Belladonna Poison and feeds Belladonna Cake, while Opium feeds into stronger pain-management items.

Organizing Your Garden

Keep poisonous crops in a separate plot from food crops so you do not mix harvests by accident. The Plant Guide Book is your in-game reference for what each plant produces. Once you have steady output, move surplus into a Mortar and Pestle for grinding and a Fermentation Barrel for liquid processing. A Bouquet is a decorative use of flowers if you want one, but the real value is keeping a chest of Cotton Fabric and Aloe Extract stocked at all times.
