Maintain Vanilla Block Appearance While Using the Shader

Understand the Shader's Design Philosophy

MCF Shaders is specifically built to preserve vanilla block textures and mob models. The shader only modifies environmental lighting, sky colors, fog, and water—not individual block appearances. Your blocks will always look like standard Minecraft, just lit by the fantasy atmosphere.

Disable Block-Specific Enhancements if Needed

If your shader configuration includes options for block shading, normal mapping, or parallax effects, these are optional. Leave them disabled if you want pure vanilla block visuals. The core MCF Shaders experience works without these additions.

Verify Texture Compatibility

MCF Shaders works with any texture pack, including the default vanilla textures. If you're using a custom texture pack, the shader will apply its atmospheric effects on top without altering the pack's block designs. Your blocks remain true to their original appearance.

Check Lighting Consistency

The shader modifies how light interacts with blocks, but doesn't change their shape or texture. If blocks look unexpectedly different, verify your other shader settings aren't accidentally enabled. The fantasy atmosphere should enhance, not replace, vanilla aesthetics.
