Fortune Spear

The Fortune Spear is crafted with a crafting_shaped recipe using a stick and metal ingots. It has longer reach than a sword, letting you hit mobs before they close in. Use it to poke creepers from a safe distance.

Glaive and Other Polearms

The Glaive uses a crafting_shaped recipe that adds a blade to a long shaft, giving a sweeping attack that hits multiple targets. It pairs well with the Fortune Spear if you want both single-target reach and crowd control. Craft both and swap based on the fight.

Combat Tips

Polearms reward spacing. Back up while attacking so enemies stay at the tip of your reach. Against fast mobs like spiders, the sweep of the Glaive helps more than the poke of the Fortune Spear. If you also craft the Frost Slayer or Chill Gale Knife, compare their reach — the polearms win on distance but lose on swing speed. Carry a fast sidearm for when mobs get inside your reach, and use the spear's length to thin herds before they surround you.
