Crafting Crossbows: From Baby Crossbow to Doom Crossbow

Starting Small

The crossbow line begins with the Baby Crossbow, a cheap crafting_shaped recipe using basic wood and string. It fires slowly but hits hard, and it is the ingredient base for several upgrades. Craft one early to get ranged damage without hunting skeletons.

Mid-Tier Crossbows

From the Baby Crossbow you can branch into the Auto Crossbow, Burst Crossbow, Dual Crossbow, Heavy Crossbow, and Rapid Crossbow. Each uses a crafting_shaped recipe that adds specific materials — iron, redstone, or gold depending on the variant. The Auto Crossbow trades per-shot damage for faster reloads, while the Heavy Crossbow does the opposite. Pick based on whether you fight swarms or single targets.

Endgame Crossbows

The top of the line includes the Doom Crossbow, Imploding Crossbow, Exploding Crossbow, Harp Crossbow, Lightning Harp Crossbow, and Feral Soul Crossbow. These require the mid-tier crossbow plus rarer additions in a crafting_shaped recipe. The Exploding Crossbow and Imploding Crossbow both affect terrain, so avoid using them near builds you want to keep. The Harp Crossbow fires multiple bolts in a spread, making it ideal for crowds.
