Crafting Axes and the Cursed Axe Line

Basic Axes

Start with the Axe using a crafting_shaped recipe of wood and stone or iron. It doubles as a tool and a weapon, so it is worth carrying early. The Highland Axe and Firebrand are mid-tier variants built from the base Axe with themed materials.

Double Axe and Great Axeblade

The Double Axe uses a crafting_shaped recipe that adds a second head, giving wider swings. The Great Axeblade pushes further into heavy territory with higher damage and slower recovery. Both are good against groups because their arcs hit multiple mobs.

Cursed Axe

Upgrade into the Cursed Axe with a crafting_shaped recipe using the appropriate base axe plus rare materials. It combines high damage with a wide swing, making it a strong pick for clearing dungeons. Because axes also chop wood, keep one in your hotbar for resource runs. Pair the Cursed Axe with armor that boosts attack speed to offset its slow recovery, and avoid using it in tight spaces where the wide arc can hit friendly mobs or break blocks you want to keep.
