How to Make Steel Ingots in Mapper Base

Smelt Raw Steel into Ingots

Raw Steel is the input for every steel item in the mod. Once you have Raw Steel in hand, smelt it in a furnace to get a Steel Ingot. The blasting recipe type also accepts Raw Steel, so a Blast Furnace produces Steel Ingots faster than a regular furnace.

Build Up Raw Steel

Raw Steel comes from processing Pig Iron Chunk. You need a Flatter Hammer to work the Pig Iron Chunk into Raw Steel. Craft the Flatter Hammer first, then use it on Pig Iron Chunk to produce Raw Steel. If you plan to make a lot of steel, upgrade to the Reinforced Flatter Hammer so the tool lasts through more conversions.

Raw Steel can also be stored as a Raw Steel Block before smelting, which is useful when you are stockpiling material between processing sessions.

From Ingot to Everything Else

Steel Ingots are the base for the full steel gear set: Steel Helmet, Steel Chestplate, Steel Leggings, Steel Boots, Steel Sword, Steel Pickaxe, Steel Axe, Steel Shovel, Steel Hoe, and Steel Horse Armor. Ingots also craft Steel Plate, Steel Rod, and the decorative Steel Block. Steel Nuggets come from crafting an ingot down, and they let you make small items like the Steel Button without wasting a full ingot.
