Crafting Steel Tools and Armor in Mapper Base
Tools
Every steel tool is crafted from Steel Ingot, Steel Plate, and Steel Rod components. The full tool set is:
- Steel Pickaxe
- Steel Axe
- Steel Shovel
- Steel Hoe
- Steel Sword
Before you can make any of these, you need a Flatter Hammer. The Flatter Hammer is the foundational tool for working steel — craft it first from iron components (Iron Plate, Iron Rod). Once you have steel production running, upgrade to the Reinforced Flatter Hammer for continued work.
Armor and Horse Gear
The steel armor set covers all four slots:
- Steel Helmet
- Steel Chestplate
- Steel Leggings
- Steel Boots
Each piece is assembled from Steel Plate shaped into the appropriate form. You can also craft Steel Horse Armor to protect a mount.
Practical Order
1. Craft the Flatter Hammer from iron parts.
2. Produce Raw Steel, blast it into Steel Ingot.
3. Convert ingots into Steel Plate and Steel Rod in bulk.
4. Craft tools first (pickaxe and axe give the most immediate value), then armor.
5. Build the Reinforced Flatter Hammer once you have spare steel.
Keep Rivet stocked as well — several steel assemblies consume rivets alongside plates and rods.
