Building with Steel Blocks, Fences, and Slabs in Mapper Base
Decorative and Structural Blocks
Mapper Base adds a full steel building set. All of these are placeable blocks crafted from Steel Ingot, Steel Plate, or Steel Block:
- Steel Block — the base storage and building block.
- Steel Slab
- Steel Stairs
- Steel Wall
- Steel Fence
- Steel Fence Gate
Use Steel Block as your primary material and craft the slab, stair, and wall variants from it. Steel Fence and Steel Fence Gate work as a matched pair for enclosures and pens.
Redstone Components
Three steel blocks function as redstone inputs:
- Steel Button
- Steel Pressure Plate
Craft these from Steel Plate or Steel Ingot depending on the recipe. They behave like their vanilla counterparts but match the steel aesthetic, so you can wire up doors and gates without breaking the visual theme.
Stocking Up
Because every building block traces back to Steel Ingot, plan your steel output around your build size. A single wall or staircase project consumes many ingots once converted into Steel Plate and shaped blocks. Produce Raw Steel, blast it to Steel Ingot, then batch-craft Steel Block before cutting it into slabs, stairs, and walls. Keep a separate chest for Steel Nugget if you are running tight on ingots — nuggets let you craft small components without committing a full ingot.
