How to Use the Spirit Altar in Malum

Prepare the Altar

The Spirit Altar is the central crafting station for Malum's spirit-based recipes. Place it on a flat surface with at least one block of clearance on all sides. You need Spirits in your inventory or placed nearby to fuel most altar recipes.

Perform a Ritual

Hold the item you want to transform and right-click the Spirit Altar. The altar consumes the required spirits and produces the output. Different recipes call for different spirit types, so check the Encyclopedia Arcana for the exact spirit and item combination before starting.

If a recipe does not activate, verify that you have the correct spirit type and enough of it. Spirits are obtained by using the Crude Scythe on mobs and certain blocks. Each harvest yields a small amount of spirit essence that accumulates in your inventory.

Place a Runewood Item Pedestal or Runewood Item Stand next to the altar to hold catalyst items. Some altar recipes require a secondary item to be present on a pedestal rather than in your hand.

After a successful ritual, collect the output from the altar. If the recipe fails, no spirits are consumed, so you can adjust your setup and try again without losing resources.
