How to Craft and Use Arcane Charcoal and Blazing Quartz

Make Arcane Charcoal

Collect Arcane Charcoal Fragments by using the Crude Scythe on grass and foliage. Combine nine fragments in a crafting grid to create one Arcane Charcoal. You can also compress Arcane Charcoal into a Block of Arcane Charcoal for storage.

Arcane Charcoal is a fuel and crafting ingredient. Use it in a furnace to smelt Raw Soulstone into Processed Soulstone, or combine it with other materials at a crafting table.

Make Blazing Quartz

Gather Blazing Quartz Fragments from mining or from spirit harvesting. Combine fragments into Blazing Quartz, then compress into a Block of Blazing Quartz if you need compact storage.

Blazing Quartz is used in advanced recipes, including Ether Torch and Iridescent Ether Torch. Craft an Ether Torch by combining Blazing Quartz with Runewood Planks and Arcane Charcoal. The Iridescent Ether Torch requires additional Chunk of Brilliance or Cluster of Brilliance.

Place Ether Torches around your base for light. They burn without needing conventional fuel and fit Malum's aesthetic. Use Blazing Quartz in stonecutting recipes to produce decorative variants of Tainted Rock and Twisted Rock.
