Adjust Shadow Intensity and Softness
Access Shader Settings
Press the shader configuration key (default: right-click the shader name in your shader menu, or use the in-game settings screen) to open the MakeUp Dead Days Shaders options panel. Look for shadow-related sliders.
Modify Shadow Parameters
Locate the shadow softness or penumbra slider to control how blurred or sharp shadow edges appear. Lower values create crisp, defined shadows; higher values produce softer, more diffuse shadows that blend smoothly with lit areas.
Find the shadow distance or radius control to adjust how far shadows extend across terrain. Increasing this value spreads shadows over larger areas, while decreasing it concentrates them closer to shadow-casting blocks.
Test Your Changes
Apply settings and observe shadows cast by trees, buildings, and terrain features. Shadows should feel natural to your preference—not too harsh or too washed out. Adjust incrementally, as small changes significantly affect the overall mood. Return to settings anytime to fine-tune further.
Performance Note
More intense shadows may impact frame rate on lower-end hardware. If performance drops, reduce shadow distance or softness slightly to find your balance.
