How to Craft and Use Staves in Mahou Tsukai

The Two Staves

The registry contains two staves: Mystic Staff of Explosive Mana Condensation and Mystic Staff of Spatial Disorientation. Each is a casting implement tied to a specific spell effect. The Explosive Mana Condensation staff delivers a condensed mana blast. The Spatial Disorientation staff disrupts positioning.

Crafting Prerequisites

Before either staff, set up the mod's core infrastructure:

1. Place a Mana Circuit or Magitech Mana Circuit for mana.

2. Craft an Attuner for interacting with magical blocks.

3. Build a Mortar and Pestle and grind Powdered Diamond, Powdered Emerald, Powdered Ender, Powdered Eye, Powdered Gold, Powdered Iron, and Powdered Quartz.

4. Open the Mahou Tsukai Knowledge Compendium and look up the staff you want.

The compendium shows the exact recipe grid. Do not guess at the layout; the powders and other registry items are arranged in a specific pattern.

Using a Staff

Hold the staff and cast. Each cast consumes mana from your running circuit. If the staff stops firing, your mana is depleted.

Scrolls as an Alternative

If you have not yet crafted a staff, the same spell effects are available through scrolls. Scroll of Explosive Mana Condensation corresponds to the Explosive Mana Condensation staff. Craft the scroll first to test the spell before committing materials to the staff. The scroll and the staff share the same mana cost per cast.
