Using the Magic Wand to Edit Block Properties
How to Modify Block States
The Magical Debug Stick functions identically to the vanilla debug stick—it lets you change block properties without breaking or replacing blocks. Hold the wand and right-click any block to cycle through its available states.
Practical Editing Workflow
Rotating blocks: Right-click a directional block like a chest, stairs, or log to rotate its facing direction. Each click cycles to the next valid orientation.
Toggling properties: Some blocks have boolean properties (on/off, powered/unpowered). Right-click to toggle between states. For example, you can switch a redstone repeater's delay or toggle a lever's powered state.
Cycling through variants: Blocks with multiple states—like different log types or piston extensions—will cycle through each option with repeated clicks.
Checking current state: Hover over a block with the wand to see its current properties in your cursor tooltip.
Tips for Map Building
Use the wand to fine-tune block orientations without needing to place and break blocks repeatedly. This is especially useful for complex builds with many directional blocks like stairs, fences, and logs. The wand preserves all other block data, so any custom NBT tags or block entities remain intact.
