Crafting Glass Trapdoors for Windows and Skylights

Glass Trapdoors exist for Acacia, Birch, Cherry, Crimson, and Dark Oak. The recipe is crafting_shaped and combines planks of the chosen wood with glass.

Craft the Glass Trapdoor

Place the wood planks and glass in the crafting grid in the shaped pattern. The result is the Glass Trapdoor for that wood. Because it uses glass, it lets light through while still acting as a trapdoor.

Build with it

Use Glass Trapdoors for skylights over a stairwell, window shutters on a second floor, or a peek-through hatch above a door. They open and close normally, so you can vent a room or check on livestock below without removing a block.

Coordinate with other glass builds

If you are already using Glass Trapdoors in one wood, craft the same style in another wood for a contrasting frame. Pair a Dark Oak Glass Trapdoor with a Birch Glass Trapdoor to separate two rooms while keeping both bright.
