How to Cap a Roof with Top and Attic Pieces

The Ridge Line

Top Roof pieces form the peak of the roof. Place a row of Top Roof blocks along the highest line of your build. For wood, use Acacia Top Roof, Acacia Planks Top Roof, Birch Top Roof, or Bamboo Top Roof. For stone, use Andesite Top Roof or Blackstone Top Roof. Concrete and terracotta variants such as Black Concrete Top Roof and Black Terracotta Top Roof work the same way.

Closing the Underside

Attic Roof pieces fill the triangular gap under the ridge when viewed from inside or below. Place Attic Roof directly beneath the Top Roof row. Use the matching material: Acacia Attic Roof under Acacia Top Roof, Acacia Planks Attic Roof under Acacia Planks Top Roof, Andesite Attic Roof under Andesite Top Roof, and so on. Concrete and terracotta families also have attic pieces, such as Black Concrete Attic Roof and Black Terracotta Attic Roof.

Order of Operations

1. Lay the Top Roof ridge row.

2. Place Attic Roof beneath it to seal the interior.

3. Attach Steep Top Roof or Lower Top Roof to the row below the attic.

4. Continue down with the matching base pieces.

Material Matching

Keep Top Roof and Attic Roof in the same family. Mixing Acacia Top Roof with Andesite Attic Roof will leave a visible seam. If you want a two-tone roof, switch families at the base pieces instead, not at the ridge.
