How to Build Horse Fences and Stockade Fences

Horse Fences

Horse Fences are available for Acacia, Bamboo, Birch, Cherry, Crimson, Dark Oak, Jungle, and Mangrove. They are built for paddocks and animal enclosures. Each is made with a shaped crafting recipe using the matching wood. Craft a stack, then place them in a perimeter around your stable or field.

Stockade Fences

Stockade Fences share the same wood list: Acacia Stockade Fence, Bamboo Stockade Fence, Birch Stockade Fence, Cherry Stockade Fence, Crimson Stockade Fence, Dark Oak Stockade Fence, Jungle Stockade Fence, and Mangrove Stockade Fence. They use a shaped crafting recipe with the matching wood and give a heavier, palisade-style barrier for outer defences.

Combining Fence Types

Both Horse Fences and Stockade Fences connect to adjacent fence blocks, so you can run a Stockade Fence around the outside of a base and a Horse Fence around the inner animal pen. Add a Wired Fence section for an open rail look, or a Picket Fence for a lighter edge. Leave a gap in each run and fill it with the matching gate — for example, a Dark Oak Curved Gate for the paddock and a Dark Oak Highley Gate for the outer wall — so you can move animals and players through without breaking the fence.
