Raw Meat to Cooked Meat

Creatures drop raw meat that must be cooked before it is useful as food. The mod registers three cooking methods: smelting in a furnace, smoking in a smoker, and campfire cooking. All three work on the same raw meats, so use whichever station you already have.

Place the raw meat in the top slot of a furnace with fuel below, or in a smoker for a faster result, or directly on a campfire. The output is the cooked version of that meat.

Meat Types

The following cooked meats exist, each produced from its raw counterpart:

Each raw meat smelts, smokes, or campfire-cooks into the matching cooked meat. Cook in batches — a stack of raw meat in a furnace produces a stack of cooked meat, and a smoker finishes each piece faster than a furnace. Campfire cooking is slowest but needs no fuel. Carry cooked meat on exploration trips since it stacks and restores hunger without the risk of food poisoning that raw meat can carry.
