Adjust Lighting Intensity for Your Playstyle
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (typically accessed through the pause menu under Video Settings, then Shaders). Look for the Luster Shaders configuration panel.
Customize Light Brightness
Locate sliders controlling path-traced light intensity and ambient brightness. If colored lighting from blocks feels too saturated or too dim, adjust the light multiplier or color saturation slider to match your preference. Lower values reduce the glow from light sources like lanterns and glowstone; higher values make them more prominent.
Fine-Tune Shadow Depth
Find shadow intensity or darkness controls. Increasing this makes shadows more defined and realistic; decreasing it softens shadows for a brighter, more forgiving look during nighttime exploration.
Test Your Changes
Move to different lighting conditions—near torches, under open sky, and in caves—to see how adjustments affect visibility and atmosphere. Save your settings once satisfied. Changes apply immediately without restarting.
