Troubleshoot Common Visual Issues
Fix Overly Dark or Bright Areas
If caves are too dark to navigate, increase cave brightness in shader settings. If the surface is washed out, reduce sunlight intensity. These are independent sliders, so you can balance them separately.
Resolve Shadow Banding or Artifacts
If you see visible bands or strange patterns in shadows, try adjusting shadow distance or softness. Sometimes lowering shadow resolution slightly eliminates visual artifacts without major performance loss.
Address Flickering or Inconsistent Lighting
Flickering often occurs when shadow settings conflict with your render distance. Try increasing shadow distance or reducing shadow softness. Ensure volumetric cloud settings aren't set to extremes.
Verify Compatibility
Confirm the shader works with your current Minecraft version and graphics API. Some visual glitches stem from outdated GPU drivers—update these before adjusting shader settings. If problems persist after tweaking options, try resetting to default shader settings and adjusting one variable at a time.
