Make Light Sources Stand Out More
Understanding Bloom in Luminous Balanced Lighting
Bloom makes bright blocks like glowstone, lanterns, and fire glow softly into surrounding air. If this effect feels too subtle, you can enhance it.
Increase Bloom Effect
Open the shader options (Shift + O) and find the bloom or glow intensity slider. Increase this value to make light sources more prominent and create stronger light rays through the air.
Combine With Other Settings
Sunbeam Intensity: If the shader offers this option, boost it to make sunlight streaming through clouds and trees more dramatic.
Ambient Brightness: Slightly reducing ambient light (the base brightness everywhere) makes bloom stand out by contrast—bright areas appear brighter against darker surroundings.
Visual Testing
Build a small test area with various light sources: torches, lanterns, glowstone, and soul lanterns. Adjust bloom while looking at this area to find settings that feel right. Be careful not to increase bloom so much that bright areas become washed out or cause eye strain during long play sessions.
