Maximize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Verify Shader is Optimized
Lucidus Shaders is designed for potato PCs, but you can still optimize further. Check your shader options for any performance-related toggles.
Reduce Other Graphics Settings
Even with a fast shader, lower these vanilla options:
- Set render distance to 8–12 chunks
- Disable fancy graphics; use fast mode
- Turn off smooth lighting if needed
- Reduce particle effects
- Lower entity shadows if available
Monitor Frame Rate
Open the debug screen (F3 on most launchers) to watch FPS. If you drop below your target, reduce render distance first—it has the biggest impact.
Disable Conflicting Mods
Some mods add their own lighting or visual effects that compete with shaders. Test with only Lucidus Shaders enabled to confirm performance.
Test in Different Biomes
Some areas (like dense forests or caves with many light sources) demand more resources. If performance dips only in specific places, that's normal—adjust expectations or reduce render distance slightly.
