Make Torches and Lanterns Cast Colored Light

Understand Colored Lighting

Lucidus Shaders automatically applies colored light to vanilla light sources like torches and lanterns. You don't need to enable anything—it works by default.

Place Light Sources Normally

Place torches, lanterns, and other light blocks as you would in vanilla Minecraft. The shader detects them and renders warm glows and soft color tints around them.

Observe the Effect

Torches emit warm orange-yellow light. Lanterns produce similar warm tones. The colored light spreads naturally onto nearby blocks, creating depth without harsh shadows.

Combine Multiple Light Sources

Place torches close together to layer their colored light. The overlapping glows blend smoothly, creating richer lighting in rooms and corridors.

Adjust Intensity if Needed

If the colored light feels too strong or too weak, return to shader options and tweak color saturation or light brightness sliders.

Note: The shader respects vanilla light levels—colored light doesn't replace brightness, it enhances it visually.
