Reduce VHS Glitches and Tracking Artifacts
Adjusting Glitch Intensity
Lost_Tape_Remastered Shaders applies VHS tracking glitches and screen jitter by default to create authentic found-footage horror. If these effects are too distracting during normal gameplay, you can tone them down.
Open your shader settings menu (usually accessed via a keybind in your shader options or through your mod loader's settings). Look for options labeled Tracking Glitch, Screen Jitter, or VHS Artifacts. Lower these sliders to reduce the frequency and intensity of horizontal line distortions and screen displacement.
Disabling Effects Selectively
If you want to keep the atmospheric grain and scanlines but remove only the jarring glitches, toggle off the Glitch or Distortion option while leaving Grain Overlay and Scanlines enabled. This preserves the retro tape aesthetic without the motion sickness-inducing artifacts.
Test your changes in a dark cave or at night to see how the adjustments feel during actual gameplay. You can always readjust if the shader feels too clean or still too chaotic.
