Reduce Chroma Bleed for Clearer Colors

Understanding Chroma Bleed

Chroma bleed mimics the color separation that occurs on old VHS tapes, where red, green, and blue channels slightly misalign. This creates a distinctive frayed color effect at edges and text. While atmospheric, it can make reading text or identifying blocks harder.

Adjusting the Effect

Open your shader settings and find the Chroma Bleed, Color Separation, or Chromatic Aberration slider. Lowering this value will reduce the rainbow-like fringing around objects and UI elements. Setting it to a lower value keeps the VHS feel without sacrificing clarity.

Balancing Aesthetics and Readability

If you're playing survival and need to read signs or chat clearly, reduce chroma bleed to around 30-50% intensity. For pure horror atmosphere in creative mode or exploration, keep it higher. You can always adjust between playstyles by saving different shader profiles if your mod loader supports them.
