Understand How Stubs Generate
Random Generation Rules
Stubs appear on side faces only—never on the top or bottom of log blocks. This keeps horizontal log stacks aligned and stackable while adding detail to vertical tree trunks. The randomness is weighted low, so standard log textures dominate your trees and maintain visual clarity.
Special Cases
Stripped logs never display stubs regardless of placement. Wood blocks (the all-bark crafted variant) also remain stub-free. Birch logs have an additional chance to spawn small mushrooms alongside regular stubs, creating a unique biome-specific detail.
Forest Biome Variations
In forest biomes, larger stump variations occasionally replace standard stubs, adding extra visual diversity to dense wooded areas. This creates natural-looking variation without requiring manual placement or configuration.
