Choosing the Right Lock Pick

Lock Picks come in five tiers: Bobby Pin Lock Pick, Iron Lock Pick, Gold Lock Pick, Steel Lock Pick, and Diamond Lock Pick. Each tier opens locks up to its own level. A Bobby Pin Lock Pick only handles Wood Locks. Iron Lock Pick handles Iron Locks. Steel Lock Pick handles Steel Locks. Gold Lock Pick and Diamond Lock Pick cover the plated locks.

Picking Steps

1. Craft the Lock Pick that matches or exceeds the lock tier.

2. Hold the Lock Pick and interact with the locked block.

3. The lock opens if the Lock Pick tier is sufficient.

If nothing happens, your Lock Pick is below the lock tier. Craft a higher-tier Lock Pick and try again.

Replacing the Lock

After picking a lock, you can break it and place a new one you control. Craft a fresh lock of the same or higher tier, cut a Key from a Key Blank at the new lock, and store the Key on a Key Ring. This prevents the same problem from recurring.

Keeping Spares

Store a spare Key for every lock in a safe location. If you run out of Lock Picks and lose your Key, you cannot open the block until you craft a higher-tier Lock Pick.
