Crafting the Key Ring

Combine a Key Ring with Key Blanks to prepare keys for your locks. The Key Ring holds multiple Key items so you can carry access to several locks without filling your inventory.

Making and Using Keys

1. Craft a Key Blank from your available materials.

2. Combine the Key Blank with a lock you have placed or crafted to produce a Key matched to that lock.

3. Add the Key to your Key Ring.

When you approach a locked block, hold the Key Ring and interact with the lock. If the Key Ring contains a Key matched to that lock, it opens. A Master Key opens any lock you have configured it for, so keep it separate from shared Key Rings.

Practical Tips

• Keep one Key Ring for your base and another for outposts.
• Store spare Key Blanks near your crafting area so you can cut new Keys when you add locks.
• If a Key does not open a lock, the Key was not matched to that specific lock — cut a new Key from a Key Blank at the correct lock.
