How to Cook All Five Living Things Meats
Pick a heat source
Every meat in Living Things cooks three ways: campfire_cooking, smelting, and smoking. The inputs are the raw meats and the outputs are the six registered items — five of which are food:
- Cooked Crab Meat
- Cooked Elephant Meat
- Cooked Giraffe Meat
- Cooked Lion Meat
- Cooked Ostrich Meat
Place the raw meat on a campfire, in a furnace, or in a smoker. Smoking is the fastest of the three, so use a smoker when you have a stack to process and a furnace or campfire when you do not.
Batch your cooking
1. Gather raw meat from the animal you are processing.
2. Load a smoker with fuel and put the raw meat in the top slot.
3. Pull out the matching Cooked item — crab goes to Cooked Crab Meat, elephant to Cooked Elephant Meat, and so on.
4. Repeat per animal type; each meat has its own cooked output and none of them substitute for each other.
If you only have a campfire, right-click it with the raw meat to start campfire_cooking. If you only have a furnace, use smelting. All three recipe types exist for all five meats, so you are never locked out of cooking by your current setup. Store finished meats together so you can see at a glance which animals you still need to hunt.
