Cooking Raw Meat: Smelting, Smoking, and Campfire Recipes

What You Can Cook

Five raw meats in Living Things cook into their cooked forms: Raw Crab Meat → Cooked Crab Meat, Raw Elephant Meat → Cooked Elephant Meat, Raw Giraffe Meat → Cooked Giraffe Meat, Raw Lion Meat → Cooked Lion Meat, and Raw Ostrich Meat → Cooked Ostrich Meat. Each of these has a smelting, smoking, and campfire_cooking recipe, so you can pick the station you already have.

Pick Your Station

• Furnace (smelting): put the raw meat in the top slot and fuel in the bottom. Slowest of the three, but always available.
• Smoker (smoking): same layout as a furnace but faster for food. Best option when you are processing a stack.
• Campfire (campfire_cooking): right-click the campfire with the raw meat to place it. No fuel needed, but each piece takes a spot and cooks in place.

Getting the Raw Meat

Hunt or spawn the matching animal with its spawn egg: Crab Spawn Egg, Elephant Spawn Egg, Giraffe Spawn Egg, Lion Spawn Egg, or Ostrich Spawn Egg. Kill the animal and collect the raw drop. Carry the raw meat straight to your cooking station so it does not sit in your inventory.

Uses

Cooked Crab Meat, Cooked Elephant Meat, Cooked Giraffe Meat, Cooked Lion Meat, and Cooked Ostrich Meat are your food supply. Crab Shell and Shark Tooth come from other creatures and are separate materials, so do not expect them from cooking.
