How to Get Started with Lanthanum

Finding and Mining Lanthanum Ore

Lanthanum Ore is your entry point into the entire lamp progression. Mine it wherever it generates in your world. Each block drops Raw Lanthanum. Bring the Raw Lanthanum back to a furnace and smelt it into Lanthanum Ingot. From Lanthanum Ingot you can craft Lanthanum Nugget, Lanthanum Dust, Lanthanum Pile, Lanthanum Shard, Lanthanum Clump, Lanthanum Crystal, and Lanthanum Mesh depending on which recipe you need next.

Processing Raw Materials

Many lamp recipes consume Lanthanum Dust rather than ingots. If a recipe calls for dust, craft your Lanthanum Ingot down into Lanthanum Dust. Dirty Lanthanum Dust is a separate item — keep it apart from clean Lanthanum Dust when sorting chests. Lanthanum Mesh and Netherite Mesh are used in more advanced lamp recipes, so craft Lanthanum Mesh once you have spare ingots. Lanthanum Crystal and Lanthanum Clump are intermediate forms; hold onto them rather than dumping them. Lanthanum Shard and Lanthanum Nugget are the smallest units and are useful when a recipe needs only a small amount. Set up a dedicated chest for all Lanthanum-family items so you can find them quickly when a lamp recipe demands a specific form.

Once you have Lanthanum Ingot and Lanthanum Dust on hand, you can begin crafting the basic lamps. Check each lamp recipe in your recipe book to see which Lanthanum form it consumes, then craft the matching form from your ingots.
