Crafting Lanterns, Glass, and Decorative Light Blocks

Lantern Variants

The mod includes several lantern blocks that are distinct from the lamps: Abyssal Lantern, Deep Ocean Lantern, Deep Sea Lantern, Ocean Lantern, and Clear Sea Lantern. Each is its own block with its own recipe. Do not assume one lantern substitutes for another — check the specific recipe for the lantern you are placing.

Glowing Glass and Vanta Black

Glowing Glass is a light-emitting glass block, useful when you want illumination without a visible fixture. Vanta Black is a dark decorative block at the opposite end of the spectrum. Both are standalone blocks — craft them directly rather than routing them through the tube chain.

Curtains and Lamp Fruit

Curtain is a decorative block for covering openings or softening light. Lamp Fruit is a block that fits the organic side of the mod's lighting. Place Lamp Fruit where you want a natural-looking light source rather than a manufactured fixture.

Supporting Materials

Several crafting ingredients support these builds: Alchemical Dust, Alchemical Lamp, Chorus Fiber, Glow Lichen Fiber, Carbon Nano Tube, Glass Tube, Bowl and Stick, and Centrifuge Filter. Keep a small stock of each near your crafting area. Glass Tube in particular pairs with the tube-based recipes, and Centrifuge Filter is consumed by the Glowstone Centrifuge, so replace it regularly.

Placement Order

Decide first whether you want a lantern, a lamp, or a glass block — they serve different visual roles. Then gather only the ingredients for that one recipe. Mixing lantern and lamp crafting in a single session tends to leave you short on shared intermediates.
