Adjust Water and Liquid Reflections
Water Reflection Behavior
Lemony Shaders creates clear, visible reflections on water surfaces by default. The shader calculates how light bounces off water based on viewing angle and light direction, creating realistic ripple-like reflection patterns.
Customizing Water Appearance
Access your shader configuration file and locate water or liquid settings. You can typically adjust:
- Reflection clarity: Higher values create sharper, more defined reflections; lower values make reflections softer and more subtle
- Wave intensity: Controls how much the water surface appears to ripple, affecting reflection distortion
- Transparency: Adjusts how much you can see through water versus seeing reflections on its surface
Testing Your Changes
Create a test area with water and observe it from different angles and times of day. Reflections should be most visible when:
- The sun is low on the horizon
- You're viewing water at a shallow angle
- Standing near bright blocks or light sources
If reflections seem too strong or too weak, adjust reflection clarity incrementally. Remember that realistic water reflections vary based on lighting conditions, so some variation is intentional.
