How to Store Fluids in a Chest as Tank

Convert a Chest Into Fluid Storage

The Chest as Tank turns an ordinary chest into a fluid container. Place the Chest as Tank block where you want your fluid stored. It accepts fluid from any pipe, bucket, or tank that outputs into it, and it holds fluid the same way a normal tank does.

Use it when you want fluid storage that fits into a chest-shaped build or when you are short on the metal tanks and have a chest on hand. It behaves as a tank block, so you can connect it to other tanks in a line to expand total capacity.

Moving Fluid In and Out

Right-click the Chest as Tank with a fluid container to deposit or withdraw fluid, or route pipes into it. To drain it into another tank, place the receiving tank adjacent and let the fluid flow, or use a bucket to carry fluid between them.

If you need to empty it completely, use the Void Tank as a destination. Connect the Chest as Tank output to a Void Tank and the fluid is destroyed rather than stored. This is useful when you have contaminated or unwanted fluid and want to reclaim the space.

Keep the Chest as Tank away from open lava or fire sources if you are storing flammable fluids, and label it so you remember which fluid it holds. Mixing fluids in one tank is not supported, so dedicate each Chest as Tank to a single fluid type.
