How to Generate Basalt Automatically with MK1–MK5

Placement

Basalt Generator MK1 through MK5 are placed blocks that produce basalt. Set one down on a solid surface with clear space in front of it for the basalt to appear. As with the cobblestone line, each tier is an upgrade of the previous one — build MK1 first, then work up to MK2, MK3, MK4, and MK5.

Collecting the Output

1. Place the Basalt Generator MK1 facing the direction you want basalt to form.

2. Mine the basalt by hand until you can afford the next tier.

3. Upgrade through MK2, MK3, MK4, and MK5 to increase output.

4. Add a Breaker against the generation face so basalt is broken for you.

5. Put a Vacuum Hopper behind the Breaker to pull the drops in.

Moving and Storing Basalt

Run a Regular Conveyor Belt, Fast Conveyor Belt, or Express Conveyor Belt from the Vacuum Hopper to a chest or a Trash Can. If you want to keep the basalt for building, send it to storage; if you only want the generator running for another purpose, send it to the Trash Can. A Redstone Timer can drive the Breaker so it does not run constantly. Keep the generator area clear of obstructions so basalt always has a free block to occupy.
