How to Automate Block Breaking and Placing
Breaker and Placer
A Breaker destroys the block in front of it. A Placer places a block from its inventory into the space in front of it. Together they form the core of most simple farms.
Basic Breaker Setup
1. Place a Breaker facing the block you want broken.
2. Feed it a Redstone Timer signal so it pulses at a controlled rate.
3. Put a Vacuum Hopper behind the Breaker to collect the drops.
4. Route the Vacuum Hopper output into an Entangled Chest or a Trash Can.
Basic Placer Setup
1. Place a Placer facing the target space.
2. Put the block you want placed into the Placer.
3. Pulse it with a Redstone Timer.
4. Pair it with a Breaker on the opposite side to cycle blocks in and out.
Combining with Conveyors
Run a Regular Conveyor Belt, Fast Conveyor Belt, or Express Conveyor Belt from the collection point to storage. Use a Drawbridge where you need a block to extend and retract on a signal. A Redstone Timer drives both the Breaker and the Placer so the cycle stays in sync. Keep the working face clear — anything in front of the Breaker or Placer interrupts the cycle.
