Bamboo Raft vs Log Rafts: Which to Craft

The Bamboo Difference

Most rafts in Just A Raft Mod are named after a log: Acacia Log Raft, Birch Log Raft, Cherry Log Raft, Dark Oak Log Raft, Jungle Log Raft, Mangrove Raft, Oak Log Raft, Pale Oak Raft, and Spruce Log Raft. The Bamboo Raft is the exception. It is crafted from Bamboo, not from a log, so it is the raft to build when you have a bamboo farm or a jungle nearby but no suitable trees.

When to Use Each

All ten rafts cross water the same way, so the choice comes down to materials and looks. If you are already chopping oak for a build, turn the spare logs into an Oak Log Raft. If you live near bamboo, the Bamboo Raft saves you a trip to the forest. In a mangrove swamp, the Mangrove Raft matches the surroundings; in a pale garden, the Pale Oak Raft does.

Crafting Either One

Both the Bamboo Raft and every log raft use a shaped crafting recipe. Gather the matching material — Bamboo for the bamboo version, the correct log type for the others — and arrange it in the crafting grid until the raft appears in the result slot. Keep one of each type at bases in different biomes so you always have a raft ready where you need it.
