Crafting a Netherite Lance: Materials and Steps

Gather Netherite First

The Netherite Lance is the highest tier of the six lances, so it needs netherite before you can craft it. Netherite is not mined directly — you mine ancient debris in the Nether, smelt it into netherite scrap, then combine netherite scrap with gold ingots to produce netherite ingots. Collect enough netherite ingots for the lance recipe before you sit down at a crafting table.

Craft the Lance with a Shaped Recipe

The Netherite Lance uses the crafting_shaped recipe type, meaning the arrangement of ingredients in the grid matters. Set up a crafting table, place your netherite ingots and the other required materials in the correct pattern, and take the finished Netherite Lance from the output slot. Because the recipe is shaped, do not expect a shapeless pile of ingredients to work — the layout must match.

Before You Commit

• Confirm you already have a Diamond Lance or Emerald Lance as a backup in case you lose the netherite one.
• Finish your netherite armor and tools first if netherite ingots are scarce.
• Keep spare gold ingots on hand, since gold is part of making netherite ingots.
• Store the finished Netherite Lance somewhere safe when not in use.

The Netherite Lance is the end of the lance progression, so craft it only once your other netherite gear is complete and you have materials to spare.
