How to Get Started with Jerry's: Slime Ore to Slime Gem

Find and Mine Slime Ore

Slime Ore and Deepslate Slime Ore are the two ore blocks in the mod. Slime Ore generates in stone, and Deepslate Slime Ore generates in the deepslate layer below it. Mine either block with a pickaxe to obtain Slime Shard. Deepslate Slime Ore is the variant you will hit once you dig below the stone layer, so bring enough pickaxes for a deep trip.

Turn Slime Shard into Slime Gem

Smelting is one of the two processing recipe types in the mod, and Slime Shard is the input you smelt to produce Slime Gem. Slime Gem is the material that feeds the Slime equipment line: Slime Helmet, Slime Chestplate, Slime Leggings, Slime Boots, Slime Sword, Slime Pickaxe, Slime Axe, Slime Shovel, and Slime Hoe are all crafted from it.

Plan Your First Gear

Bank a stack of Slime Shard before you start smelting, because every piece of Slime gear costs Slime Gem. Craft the pieces you need most first — a Slime Pickaxe to speed up further mining, then Slime Sword and Slime Chestplate for survivability. Keep spare Slime Gem in a chest near your furnace so you can replace broken tools without another mining run.
