Using Shapeless Recipes to Make a Liquid Tank

Why Shapeless Matters

The ITank Mod contains fifteen shapeless recipes and only one shaped recipe. That means the vast majority of ways to produce a Liquid Tank ignore grid position entirely. You can drop ingredients into the crafting grid in any order and still get a valid result, which makes experimentation fast.

Step-by-Step

1. Open a crafting table so you have the full 3x3 grid.

2. Place the items you believe belong in a Liquid Tank recipe anywhere in the grid.

3. Check the output slot. If a Liquid Tank appears, the recipe is valid.

4. If nothing appears, swap one ingredient for a different item and check again.

5. When you find a working combination, note the exact items so you can repeat it.

Because the recipe is shapeless, you never need to memorize a layout — only the list of ingredients. This also means you can craft a Liquid Tank while your inventory is cluttered, since you can drop items into any free slots.

The one shaped recipe in the mod does require a fixed pattern. If your shapeless attempts keep failing, try arranging the same items in a symmetrical layout, such as a ring or a cross, and check the output again.
