Color Variants Exist at Every Tier

Each material tier has sixteen color variants. For Copper you have White Copper Shulker Box through Black Copper Shulker Box. The same is true for Iron, Gold, Diamond, Crystal, and Obsidian. That gives you a full palette at whatever tier you use.

Match Your Storage Room

Use colors to label categories. A Red Iron Shulker Box for redstone, a Green Iron Shulker Box for plants, a Blue Iron Shulker Box for water-related items, and a Light Gray Iron Shulker Box for stone. Because every color exists at every tier, you can keep the same color scheme even if you upgrade a box later.

Color Survives Upgrades

When you apply an upgrade item such as Copper to Iron Shulker Box Upgrade or Iron to Gold Shulker Box Upgrade, the color carries through. A Lime Copper Shulker Box becomes a Lime Iron Shulker Box, then a Lime Gold Shulker Box, and so on. You do not need to re-dye after each step.

Plan Around Your Dyes

Stock the dyes for the colors you use most before you start crafting boxes. Since the color variants are separate items, decide your palette first, then craft or upgrade into those colors directly rather than making a plain box and converting later.
