Crafting Every Chest Tier and Upgrade Item

Chest Blocks

All chest blocks are made with shaped recipes. The plain tiers are Copper Chest, Iron Chest, Gold Chest, Diamond Chest, Crystal Chest, and Obsidian Chest. Each higher tier uses the previous tier's chest plus the metal or material that names it, so progress one step at a time rather than trying to jump from wood to diamond in a single grid.

DirtChest 9000! is its own block and is not part of the metal upgrade chain.

Upgrade Items

Upgrade items are separate craftable objects, not chests. The full set is:

  • Wood to Copper Chest Upgrade
  • Copper to Iron Chest Upgrade
  • Wood to Iron Chest Upgrade
  • Iron to Gold Chest Upgrade
  • Gold to Diamond Chest Upgrade
  • Diamond to Crystal Chest Upgrade
  • Diamond to Obsidian Chest Upgrade

Craft the upgrade that matches the chest you currently have, then apply it to that chest. Wood to Iron Chest Upgrade is the shortcut item that skips Copper entirely.

Trapped Chests

Every tier has a trapped variant: Trapped Copper Chest, Trapped Iron Chest, Trapped Gold Chest, Trapped Diamond Chest, Trapped Crystal Chest, Trapped Obsidian Chest, and Trapped DirtChest 9000!. These are crafted as their own blocks. A trapped chest still upgrades along the same chain, so a Trapped Iron Chest becomes a Trapped Gold Chest with an Iron to Gold Chest Upgrade.
