How to Reach a Netherite Barrel

Choose Your Progression Path

The Netherite Barrel is the top tier. There are two ways to reach it depending on which upgrade items you craft.

Path A — Through Obsidian: Craft an Obsidian To Netherite Barrel Upgrade and apply it to an Obsidian Barrel. This is the direct route if you already have an Obsidian Barrel.

Path B — Through Diamond: Craft a Diamond to Obsidian Barrel Upgrade to turn a Diamond Barrel into an Obsidian Barrel, then apply the Obsidian To Netherite Barrel Upgrade to reach Netherite.

Step-by-Step

1. Start with a Diamond Barrel if you are following Path B.

2. Craft the Diamond to Obsidian Barrel Upgrade using its crafting_shaped recipe.

3. Apply it to the Diamond Barrel to produce an Obsidian Barrel.

4. Craft the Obsidian To Netherite Barrel Upgrade using its crafting_shaped recipe.

5. Apply it to the Obsidian Barrel.

The result is a Netherite Barrel. All upgrades are applied in place, so the barrel keeps its position and stored contents throughout the chain. You never need to break and replace the block manually.
