Set Up Your First Steam Locomotive
Assembling the Locomotive
Start by placing your chosen steam locomotive (such as the RTLC-01 or RTLC-03) on a section of Immersive Railroading track. The locomotive will need fuel to operate—steam locomotives require coal or other fuel items in their inventory.
Attaching Cars and Testing
Once placed, approach the rear coupling point and attach passenger or freight cars by right-clicking with the car item. The RTLC Coach works well for passengers, while flatcars suit cargo. Check that couplings are secure before attempting to move.
To operate the locomotive, enter it by right-clicking and use standard Minecraft controls to accelerate and steer. Test on a short, flat track section first to familiarize yourself with speed and braking. Different locomotive classes handle differently—the 91904 Class excels on sharp corners, while the Manager Class prioritizes speed on straightaways.
Fuel Management
Keep fuel stocked in the locomotive's inventory. For longer routes, consider adding an Auxiliary Tender behind the locomotive to extend your range before needing to refuel at a depot.
