Powering Machines with the Generator and Energy Battery

Generate power

Place a Generator and give it fuel. It produces energy for your network. Run Logic Cable from the Generator to whatever consumes power.

Buffer the output

Place an Energy Battery between the Generator and your machines. The battery stores energy so short demand spikes do not stall the Generator. Connect Generator to Energy Battery with Logic Cable, then run cable from the Energy Battery to each machine.

Wire up consumers

A Mechanical Squeezer and a Mechanical Drying Basin both need power to run automatically. Attach cable from the Energy Battery to each. Use a Wrench to adjust cable and part orientation when routing around corners.

If you need to branch a single cable run into two directions, place a Part Connector Mono Directional so signals only travel the way you intend.

Monitor the network

Attach a Part Machine Reader to a powered machine to read its state, and a Part Machine Writer to control it. Attach a Part Network Reader to inspect the network itself. Feed those readings into a Logic Programmer using Variable Cards, and store the results in a Variable Store.

Add a Part Display Panel near the battery so you can see stored energy at a glance. Use a Labeller to name the variables you read so you can reuse them later.
