Upgrading Backpacks: From Frayed to Endless

The Backpack Tiers

Inmis includes seven backpack items: Frayed Backpack, Plated Backpack, Gilded Backpack, Bejeweled Backpack, Blazing Backpack, Withered Backpack, and Endless Backpack. Each is a separate registry item with its own shaped crafting recipe. The Frayed Backpack is the lowest tier; the Endless Backpack is the highest.

How Upgrades Work

Backpack upgrades follow a shaped recipe pattern. In most cases the recipe consumes the previous tier backpack plus additional materials to produce the next tier. This means you should not discard your current backpack when aiming for an upgrade — you need it as an ingredient. Check the recipe for your target tier before gathering materials so you know exactly which backpack and which extra items are required.

Planning Your Progression

Decide how much storage you actually need. If you are doing short mining trips, a Frayed Backpack or Plated Backpack may be sufficient. For long expeditions or base hauling, push toward Gilded, Bejeweled, Blazing, or Withered tiers. The Endless Backpack is the final target and requires the full chain of materials. Because each step consumes the prior backpack, budget your resources across the whole chain rather than crafting each tier from scratch.

Equipping and Using

Equip your backpack in the dedicated backpack slot in your inventory. Higher tiers hold more items, so move your most valuable haul into the backpack before risky fights or long travel.
