Reduce Performance Impact on Lower-End Systems
Check Your Current Frame Rate
Enable the debug screen (F3) to monitor your FPS while playing with Inkboil Shaders active. The cartoon effect and line redrawing can demand extra GPU resources.
Lower Render Distance
Reduce your render distance in Video Settings. This limits how far the shader must process and animate outlines, freeing up performance for smoother gameplay.
Disable or Lower Optional Effects
Return to Shader Options and look for toggles related to ambient occlusion, shadow quality, or reflection detail. Disabling or reducing these secondary effects can significantly improve frame rates while keeping the core cartoon aesthetic intact.
Adjust Animation Smoothness Settings
Some shader packs allow you to control the animation update frequency. If available, you may be able to reduce the boil redraw rate slightly to ease GPU load, though this may make the sketch effect less fluid.
Monitor Results
Test your changes in different environments—caves, forests, and open sky—to ensure playable performance across all conditions.
