Optimize Camera Movement and Animation Smoothness
Understand the Animation Timing
Inkboil Shaders redraws the cartoon outline effect twelve times per second, independent of your frame rate. This means smooth camera panning is maintained even if your FPS fluctuates, as long as your system meets minimum performance thresholds.
Enable Vsync for Consistent Results
Turn on Vsync in Video Settings to lock your frame rate to your monitor's refresh rate. This prevents jarring visual stutters and ensures the outline animation stays synchronized with your view.
Check Your Frame Rate Stability
Use the debug screen (F3) to monitor FPS consistency. Aim for stable performance above 30 FPS for smooth camera movement. Dips below this threshold may cause the cartoon effect to feel choppy.
Reduce Motion Blur if Available
If your shader options include motion blur or camera blur effects, disable them. These can conflict with the boil animation and make camera pans feel less responsive.
Test in Different Scenarios
Fly around in Creative mode and observe how the outline effect behaves during quick turns and fast movement. Adjust render distance or shader intensity if animation feels disconnected from your camera motion.
