Adjust the Cartoon Line Intensity

Access Shader Settings

Open your shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options (the gear icon next to your active shader name).

Find the Outline or Boil Controls

Look for settings related to "outline," "line weight," "boil effect," or "cartoon intensity." Inkboil Shaders exposes controls that let you adjust how prominent the hand-drawn sketch lines appear on your world.

Customize to Your Preference

Increase the value to make outlines bolder and more visible—ideal if you want a stronger storybook feel. Decrease it for a subtler effect that blends more with standard Minecraft visuals. The animation still redraws at twelve times per second regardless of intensity.

Apply and Test

Save your changes and walk around your world. Try different lighting conditions and block types to see how the outline effect interacts with shadows and terrain. Adjust further if needed. Your preference may vary depending on your monitor brightness and viewing distance.
